Nizwa Fort  -Nizwa Souq – Bahla Fort – Jabreen Castle - Back to Muscat

​We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the fort is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and sieges. Next to the fortress is the large Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods including jewellery, pottery, fish, and meats, then continue drive to Bahla Fort to view the art of traditional pot making, it’s one of the oldest and biggest forts in Oman, and the only fort in the country to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Official statements say that the oldest parts of the fort were built as early as the year 500 BC, afterward continue drive to Jabreen Castle one of the most beautiful forts of Oman which is famous for its unique painting and ancient utensils, it’s one of the best-preserved and whimsical castles of them all, after this visit we drive back to Muscat.
