Our Muscat City Tour will take you first to the Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the
world opened Saturday to Thursday from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday it will be closed. Here you
can admire the second largest handmade carpet in the world and the famous chandelier in the
main prayer hall. Leaving the mosque, we will then drive by the Opera House visit from inside
or photo stop, then continue to drive to beautiful beach road of Shatti Qurum, and the Fish
Market. From here
we will walk along the corniche to the famous Mutrah Souq, a colorful market with many small
alleyways and passages in which you will find an assortment of souvenirs, antiques, and
delightful treasures.Our next stop is thmagnificent Al Alam Palace in old Muscat which is the official Palace of his
Majesty Royal Highness Sultan Qaboos. It is flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts
Mirani & Jalali. Then we visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a nice small private Omani heritage
museum near the palace, in which you can see typical Omani dresses, weapons, and jewellery
among many other items. From there we will drive the coastal road south, past the main private
marina to the Al Bustan Palace Hotel for a peak into their gigantic famous lobby. The tour ends
here, and you can ask to be dropped anywhere in Muscat.
Note: Entrance fee for the Opera House Tour and Baiz Al Zubair Museum (3 OMR PER PERSON) is not included in the tour. (Half Day City Tour no Museum
Dress Code: For Man, please wear a long sleeve shirt or jacket and a trouser and for Woman please wear a long dress or long sleeve shirt and a trouser and head scarf to cover the hair.
